Responsibilities:

  • Observe or monitor objects to determine compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards;
  • Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and any other required paperwork;
  • Liaise with suppliers to order any required parts and maintain inventory;
  • Read and interpret owner, operator, and manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications to complete job tasks;
  • Test diagnose, and repair equipment including: diesel/propane powered lift trucks, and other heavy construction equipment;
  • Clean, lubricate and perform routine repairs;
  • Other related duties as required;
  • Adjust, overhaul, repair, engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, brakes, drive shafts, axels, and other assemblies;
  • Complete maintenance reports and required documentation;
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems;
  • Test equipment to ensure proper performance;
  • Estimate parts and labour costs;
  • Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, reduce turnaround times and streamline work processes;
  • Adjust, overhaul, repair, engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, differentials, brakes, driveshafts, axels, and other assemblies;
  • Complete all duties in accordance with company health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience with maintenance welding is an asset;
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various job tasks;
  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to walk stands, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks;
  • Time management skills;
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment or related machinery;
  • Speak English, Read English, Write English;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Decision making, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Experience required, license required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable form of transportation;
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination;
  • Company Truck will be provided
  • Good command of the English language (written & spoken).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • On call

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

  • mechanical: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Journeyman (required)
