RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Analysis Institute of the McGill College Well being Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital analysis centre. Positioned in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the analysis arm of the McGill College Well being Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the College of Drugs at McGill College. Underneath the final supervision of the supervisor of the Animal Assets Division, the technician performs animal care-related duties, technical procedures and administrative duties associated to the care and use of laboratory animals.
Common Duties
• Performs animal health-related duties: observes and performs bodily examinations of animals,
• Identifies, data and stories animal well being issues to the Veterinarian and Investigators/analysis
workers,
• Administers remedies and carry out diagnostic checks as prescribed by the Veterinarian,
• Gives coaching and orientation to the PIs and analysis workers,
• Prepares the required tools, devices, and provides for surgical procedure or procedures and supply
surgical pre and post-op care,
• Conducts routine and specialised strategies on laboratory animals,
• Gives data to PIs and Analysis workers regarding animal well being, administration of therapy,
strategies and animal use protocols,
• Performs husbandry and technical duties associated to the care and upkeep of animals,
• Helps keep stock of supplies, drugs and tools,
• Operates and screens applicable tools, instruments, supplies and devices,
• Administrative duties (information entry, coordinate conferences, reception, coaching session).
Training / Expertise
• D.E.C. with specialization in Animal Well being Expertise (of two,730 hours – Program 145.A0)
from a college acknowledged by the ‘’Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec’’,
• Expertise with massive analysis animal fashions is an asset,
• CALAS-AALAS Certification or equal thought-about an asset,
• Capability of adaptation,
• Wonderful communication and interpersonal expertise,
• Wonderful organizational expertise in managing priorities, multi-tasking and prioritizing for
time-sensitive points and dealing underneath minimal supervision,
• Demonstrated versatility with pc purposes, particularly Home windows, MS Phrase, Excel,
Outlook and Web,
• Proficient French and English spoken and written.

Pay Scale: commensurate with {qualifications} and expertise
Work Shift: begins at 8 a.m. (Saturday and/or Sunday, and/or holidays, and trip replacements)
