Our expertise in medicinal chemistry, custom synthesis and scale-up process chemistry enables us to support all aspects of drug discovery, supporting lead optimization through candidate identification. Our research scientists were responsible for over 100 patents, 17 compounds advanced to IND-enabling toxicology studies, and 7 compounds reaching Phase I or beyond.

X-Chem is seeking for a motivated Technical Associate to help drive our drug discovery research programs. Key responsibilities of the successful candidate include the following:

  • Support the South and North laboratory in distributing the products ordered
  • Ensuring an accurate inventory management using established procedures
  • Maintain the various lab instruments and fixing broken equipment
  • Plan and execute any maintenance activities of lab instruments
  • Inform all employees of back orders of chemical products
  • Communicate to all employees any planed activities that could affect the lab work
  • Manage chemical inventory system and weigh-out materials
  • Order, receive, unpack, and organize chemical reagents and consumables in a safe and expert manner
  • Organize shipment of final compounds (weight final compounds; compile and review documentation for shipment including paperwork with customs)
  • Prepare buffer solution to support the analytical and chemistry teams
  • Assure high standards in documentation and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or High school combined with more work experience
  • 1–3 year of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Be able and willing to safely handle potentially dangerous, toxic, solvents, and waste solvents.
  • Intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook software
  • Strong time-management skills are a must

  • Highly organized and proven ability to manage many projects simultaneously

  • Detail-oriented and able to perform & learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Have written and spoken communication skills in English and French
  • Knowledge of HPLC & reversed-phase chromatography principles is an asset

Note: Work may require to lift upwards of 50 lbs.
