Summary

  • The Devices and 5G technology innovations team is looking for a skilled and experienced Sr. Architect to join our team and help us in resolving large scale customer friction problems.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for leveraging big data tools and technologies to collect, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data generated by customers to identify and mitigate friction points in their experience with our products or services.

  • A successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end architecture and roadmaps four our all-IP video product including video processing and distribution.

  • This position requires forward thinking, strong communication skills, and collaborate with various cross-functional teams across Rogers.

Key Responsibility:

  • Provide technical leadership and requirements to improve service reliability, performance, and analytics of Rogers core services (video, voice, data, wireless).

  • Work closely with the product team, customer service teams, and other stakeholders to understand customer friction points and develop data-driven solutions to address them.

  • Use advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining to analyze large volumes of customer data and extract insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test hypotheses and experiments that help in improving customer experience.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance metrics and track the impact of initiatives.

  • Stay current with the latest trends and developments in big data technologies and apply them to improve the effectiveness of the solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership, requirements and support to workstream architects, designers and integrators in the development of End-to-End service designs flows.

  • Identify opportunities for architectural efficiencies to simplify delivery and improve the customer experience.

  • Develop roadmap for forward looking technologies and services in the area of IP Video solutions.

  • Oral and Written Communications: Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally ‐ it includes tone, style and structure and the ability to produce a variety of technical and business documents that demonstrate command of language, organization of thought and orderliness of presentation.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in big data analytics, preferably in a customer-facing industry such as telecommunications.

  • Keeps conversant with advanced technological developments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large volumes of data.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, data visualization, and data modeling.

  • Originality and ingenuity are required for devising practical and economical solutions to problems.

Key Knowledge Areas:

  • Experience with Agile processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence)

  • Familiarity with IP Video, Phone technologies, components, and solutions

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, data visualization, and data modeling.

  • Experience working with big data tools and technologies such as Azure Cloud and Splunk

  • Experience with IP video technology and standards

  • Knowledge of access technologies (DOCSIS, XGSPON, 5G Wireless)

  • Wireless protocols and standards (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee)
