NorTech Industrial Services provides project management, construction management, and skilled labour for installation and maintenance of specialized mechanical equipment and associated structural steel. We utilize the diverse backgrounds of our highly skilled and carefully selected managers and technicians to rethink the possibilities when it comes to construction and installations.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent is the key interface between the client, field crews, project staff, and senior management and theywill be responsible for supporting various installation projects and maintenance of equipment which will involve managing various construction sites at once, supervising field teams, subcontractors, and promoting the company’s HSE policies throughout each project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct field crews, foremen and charge-hands on installation projects (typical value range: $100k – $15m)
  • Identify efficient means of construction execution methodology through liaising with engineers, tradespeople, clients, and project managers, and client representatives
  • Mentor foreperson, charge-hands, junior field engineers and project managers
  • Participate in estimates of execution hours, equipment and other resources required for installation projects
  • Problem solves on site in a fast-paced environment under the constraint of tight construction schedules
  • Schedule construction tasks while identifying critical aspects of the execution
  • Propose creative value add solutions
  • Meet with existing and potential clients and develop new project opportunities
  • Evaluate IFC drawings for fabrication and installation deficiencies
  • Planning, scheduling, and monitor project financials on a high-level while planning work in the field
  • Assist project engineer in development of QC documentation
  • Champion an inclusive labour relations culture by adhering to the LR policies and procedures


  • Minimum of 5 years in a Superintendent role or 10 years as a foreperson with BC building trades
  • Millwrighting and/or Ironworking experience
  • Understanding of installations and maintenance of specialized mechanical equipment and structural steel
  • Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control
  • Read and understand project specifications and engineering drawings
  • Strong work ethic – willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Able to perform basic operations in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
