Student Navigator (Nahum Gelber Law Library)
*** The position is open to McGill undergraduate students only. Preference for McGill students eligible for Work Study will be given. Please indicate your faculty and program, your current year and expected graduation date, and include the confirmation of eligibility when applying.
Approximately 15 hours per week until December 22, 2023 with the possibility of continuation
Position Summary:

Provides assistance in navigating the Library and McGill websites as well as providing basic support in the use of technology located in the library (computers, printers, scanners etc. )

Lends materials of various formats
-
Move and shelve library materials
-
Carries out collection maintenance tasks, shifting and shelving of materials, vacuuming of materials, assessing the condition of items and basic repairs

Changing deficient barcodes and call number labels.

Ensures appropriate guidelines are followed in relation to the use of the facilities.

Performs other duties as assigned
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: moving and lifting weights of up to 20kgs, handling dusty library materials, shelving and shifting books, bending, working while standing. English spoken read and written and French spoken and read. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
