Structural Engineer in Mississauga, Ontario

Project and Job Description:

Currently Planmac has a lot of the work, bridges and roadway, waterways, highways, structural culverts.. Most of their clients are in municipality and it’s 80% of their work vs the private sector. They also provide structural services for engineering companies and build work like bus shelters, TTC, interior building changes, and renovations like moving walls, expanding washrooms. Structural engineer is doing drawings, design calculations, and adding to the package,

Candidate wouldn’t be working on just one project they currently have 8 diff project tender ready, final specs, cost estimates, half a dozen to a dozen newer projects.

· Structural design, design review, and stamping of drawings

· Structural Quality Assurance / Quality Control reviews

· Obtain and retain RAQS registration (if possible) as an approved key individual for Bridge Engineering (multi-span designation preferred although minimum of single-span qualification necessary)

· Assist with the preparation of engineering reports. Assist with the preparation of environmental assessment reports

· Project management of various projects

· Assist with the preparation of engineering cost estimates

· Assist with the preparation of quantity estimates

· Assist with the preparation of contract specifications

· Assist with site review/inspections and project coordination as required

· Maintain electronic drawing file organization for projects and provide support for CAD / Civil 3D

· Adhere to MTO standards and other client requirements

· Assist with project related site reviews and project coordination as required

· Assist with proposal preparation – technical input

· Assist with budget and schedule management on projects

· Coordinate with project subconsultants

Assist with preparation of environmental studies and reports with guidance and assistance of other Environmental Planners

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-Building experience

-Ontario experience

-AutoCAD not 3D but can open cad files (not expecting full detail revisions)
