STEM Camp Instructor

Byte Camp is a creative technology camp that offers programs to groups of 12 kids in one or more of the following topics each week: 3D Modelling / Animation, 2D Graphics and Game Design, Clay Animation, Music and Video Production, Web Design, and 3D Game Design. We promote a tech/health balance with 3 outdoor breaks in every day of camp. Each student in our program takes home their finished project at the end of the week, and our goal is to give them the best week of summer!

Instructors are temporary, full-time employees who typically work between 35-40 hours per week between June 21 – September 2, 2023. Contracts range between 7-11 weeks, so instructors can expect 1-3 weeks off during the summer. Instruction hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with 30 minutes of set up and take down of equipment at 8:30am and 4:30pm. We do not expect all instructors to be well versed in every program offered.

Mandatory training takes place June 21-23, 2023, selected candidates will be provided further details.

Qualifications and Skills
Excellent communication and collaboration

Valid driver’s license preferred

Experience in one or more of the following:
-Teaching/working with children
-3D Modelling & Animation
-2D Graphics
-HTML/JAVA SCRIPT/Web Design/Python Scripting
-Animation (Stopmotion, 2D, 3D)
-Music and Video Production
-3D Game Design

Required to have or willing to obtain the following:

First Aid
Criminal Record Check
Full Covid-19 Vaccination

**Valid Driver’s license is not required, but preferred for Lead Instructors. This job requires some commuting, either by public transit or personal vehicle.

Positions are funded by Canada Summer Jobs Grants and candidates must be:
30 years of age or under
Canadian Citizens or Permanent Resident
