Software Engineer in Kanata, Ontario

Description:

The Network platform team is currently searching for software engineer. This position will be a 12 month contract. This person will be responsible for writing software in C/C++ to develop network protocols to increase in vehicle connectivity as well as external connectivity. External connectivity will eventually be used for communication with traffic lights, other cars, and pedestrians.

The current project that they are working on is called “V2X.” Which is Vehicle connected to “X.” It’s a local communication system that uses the local Wi-Fi network, and there is also peer to peer communication. There’s a Wi-Fi protocol called “Wi-Fi Direct” which is two devices which use Wi-Fi to connect to each other.

Duties:

• Working in the full SDLC to implement software features and networking protocols

• Working in a dispersed team to meet project deadlines

• Attending daily and weekly scrum and status meetings

• Coding, primarily in C++, to help implement the next gen networking for FNV4.
