Social Media Specialist Job Description (Content Chameleon)

  • Creative writing piece that you have written (can be short form, 100 – 250 words)

We are currently looking for a creative, Social Media content specialist who knows what it takes to grow an online community through powerful photos, video, and words that help organizations stand out in a crowded digital space (this is also code for never a boring day!).

Can you place yourself in the position of an audience and creatively develop content that will have them take action (on a website, in social media, and more)?

Now for the important stuff – who we are : ) At CSG and BubbleUP we value transparency, honesty and fun. We laugh A LOT and work hard at the same time. If you enjoy an impromptu nerf gun war (started usually by our CEO), being in a client meeting and watching a co-worker ride by on our google bike and a selection of really great coffee, lattes, and teas we encourage you to read the boring stuff below!! We currently offer flexible, remote working conditions to suit the various needs of pandemic life but do want to see your face in the office as we also feel personal connection is key.

Now for the boring stuff, what you’ll do:

  • Research social media, content and consumer trends, to create content for a variety of businesses
  • Define desired target audiences, manage the content creation, publishing process, and monitor consumer and content metrics
  • Use existing, OR capture visual communications (video, photo) and couple with attractive and concise copy for adverts, websites, landing pages, blogs, social media, and more
  • Work closely with design and marketing teams to ensure that content is engaging and consistent across all media platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead, including updates to social media marketing, attribution, and content needs
  • Develop and tell authentic stories that engage with end users and target audiences today and in the future
  • Develop, post, and run social media campaigns on a variety of platforms AND recommend which ones to use
  • Suggest and develop new campaigns for clients in a multitude of industries
  • Ensuring that SEO and SMO strategies are effectively implemented
  • Managing content calendars and ensuring that the content remains consistent across all platforms

Requirements

  • Expert visual storyteller with excellent knowledge of consumer and content trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 2 years content development experience
  • Familiarity with Social Media platforms, and what it takes to build an online community with each platform.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to sell and convince. You will manage relationships with vendors and clients
  • Strong understanding of Social Media Optimization, and SEO
