Social Media Coordinator, Digital Strategy
Required Position
Term Appointment : September 2023 until August 2024
This position is designated as one that may require a different work week andor hours of work. However, the work week would remain thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week. The current Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (summer hours), or Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (winter hours). Upon four weeks’ notice, the work week and/or hours of work may be changed. (This may include evening and/or weekend shifts.)
Responsibilities
The Social Media Coordinator will engage the University’s stakeholders via the content development for digital properties including social media, websites and other digital mediums. The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of the digital strategy for the University. Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Digital Strategy, the successful candidate will ensure all digital properties contribute to recruitment, user-friendly information sources, and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
The successful candidate will:
Solicit, review and integrate social content from Laurentian University’s social media stakeholders;
Optimize the accuracy, design and accessibility of content for Laurentian University’s social platforms;
Receive and transfer documents for display on social media, work with internal departments to respond to business needs;
Assist in creation of new content including videos, photos and other interactive pieces for the web and social media;
Perform other duties directly related to this position as assigned.
Qualifications
University degree in related field is strongly recommended (Marketing, Communications, etc.);
Portfolio of experience in writing for the web and social media;
One to three years of work experience in successfully managing multiple social networks;
High level of creativity, excellent writing skills and analytical ability;
Knowledge of University community and the recruitment cycle;
Understanding of social measurement tools;
Excellent writing skills in both official languages would be an asset;
Suitable knowledge of on-line marketing strategies and tools;
Experience in producing promotional material in digital formats would be an asset;
Ability to work fluently in both official languages (French and English).
