  • Course description: Introduction to computing education research (CER) and pedagogical content knowledge. Introduction to learning theories and their application to computing. Foundational and influential CER work. High-impact practices and practical applications to evaluation, assessment, and feedback. This course is writing intensive.

  • Salary: $52.26/hour + 4% vacation pay

  • Minimum qualifications: Expertise in computer science education research (demonstrated through e.g., presentations, papers, attendance at reading groups/conferences, coursework, etc.). Ability to facilitate tutorial discussions based on assigned readings. Strong communication skills. Ability to give feedback and assessment on written assignments (essays, research proposals, posters, popular articles, etc.)
  • Preferred qualifications: n/a
  • Description of duties: Must be available in person at UTM to facilitate tutorials and other meetings as needed. Facilitating discussion based tutorials. Grading written assignments and tests. Facilitating discussion on discussion boards such as Piazza. Meeting with groups of students who will be leading weekly seminars.
