Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary objective is to ensure that IT enterprise application systems within the University are designed, developed, deployed and supported in a client-centric, efficient and cost effective manner. The incumbent will be responsible for the analysis, development, integration, testing, implementation, documentation and maintenance of new and existing systems, and integration software in support of systems development and enterprise-wide systems operation. The incumbent will assume a leadership role in collaborating with our enterprise systems clients in order to understand their business needs.

The incumbent is responsible for engaging clients to understand requirements, analyzing
alternative system solutions, proposing or reviewing system design to ensure requirements
are met, and facilitate the implementation of system enhancements or changes.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
•Highly developed analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
•Highly developed ability to think logically through complex procedural and systems processes.
•Highly developed communication, presentation and consultation skills are required.
•Excellent client service and conflict resolution skills to establish effective liaison and
rapport with University staff at all levels; high level of tact and diplomacy; interviewing
and group workshop skills; highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work
without supervision are all essential to the position.
•Process workflow system experience is an asset; packaged software implementation
experience for large systems is an asset; experience in the design and implementation of
custom developed systems is an asset; knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning – ERP
in Banner is an asset and knowledge and understanding of roles and responsibilities of
each University department is an asset.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
•Honours degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 4 to 6 years of directly related experience, normally acquired through several years of consulting on various information systems projects.
