We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded professional to join our organization as the Senior Manager of Data Strategy and Governance. In this key role, you will support the development and implementation of a comprehensive business intelligence strategy, focusing on data quality and governance across master data objects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data management, analytics, and governance, with the ability to align data initiatives with overall business objectives.
This contract position will be eligible for the benefits, time off program, and competitive compensation that full-time employees receive. This will be a 15-month contract with an anticipated start date in January 2025. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Data Strategy Development:

  • Drive the execution of the organization’s data strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize data needs for key business initiatives.
  • Advise on the design and refinement of data architecture, systems, and processes to enhance data management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Data Governance:

  • Effectively manage a team to enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure that data practices meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Implement and oversee data stewardship programs focused on data quality and integrity.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) Strategy and Dashboard Development:

  • Support a team of Business Intelligence Analysts to develop company-wide dashboards in Tableau leveraging best practices.
  • Provide guidance to the business on how to interpret key insights from BI projects, presenting to senior stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and support their data needs and challenges.
  • Communicate the value of data governance practices to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the data strategy and governance team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics).
  • 4+ years of experience in data management, with a focus on data strategy and governance.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, regulations, and best practices.
  • Tableau or similar certification is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Where You’ll Work

  • Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We have Hub Regions spanning across Canada, UK, and India, which means that employees live and work remotely within a 300 KM radius of Toronto (within Ontario),Vancouver (within British Columbia), Ahmedabad (within Gujarat), Pune (within Maharashtra), and London (UK) and work within regular business hours in their timezone. 
  • Loopio has two flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the flexibility of working out of our convenient coworking space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work from our co-working office in Gastown Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you!
  • You’ll collaborate with your teams virtually (we’re just a Zoom call away!) and have established core sync hours and focus time during the workday to enable us to work smarter together
