Senior IT Support Technician

We are looking for a technically skilled candidate with excellent network, desktop and IT support and customer service skills.


· End user hardware support includes:network equipment (Switches, Routers, WIFI),workstations, mobile phones, printers, copiers and phone systems.

· End user software support for Microsoft Office Suite (2019/2021 and Office 365), Windows Operating System (Windows 10 and 11), QuickBooks and various other software packages

· Ensure all Helpdesk calls are properly entered into Tuor’s ticketing system and completed in a timely fashion

· Setup, configure and deploy new and existing hardware and software

· Reference point for all IT-related queries at the user level

· Responding to user needs in a timely manner

· Ensuring the optimal running of all systems

· Occasional on-call responsibilities from time to time

· Any other related IT duties

· Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner

· Listen to technical needs of the client, understand their problems and implement solutions


· Desktop support

· Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability

· Troubleshooting hardware and software issues

· Repairing or replacing damaged hardware

· Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level

· Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware

· Providing support to users and being first point of contact for error reporting

· Establishing relationships with all departments and colleagues

· Ensuring compliance of corporate IT protocols

· Recording technical documentation as may be required


· Appropriate and relevant technical degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized educational institution

· 5+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance

· A+, Linux+ or Cisco-certified, or similar network associate accreditation is advantageous

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Good interpersonal skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Attention to detail

· Good problem solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time


  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Calgary, AB T2G 4B7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)


  • IT Technician OR IT Support Technician: 5 years (preferred)
  • in computer networks and systems maintenance: 5 years (preferred)
  • Desktop support: 4 years (preferred)
  • Windows Operating System (Windows 10 and 11: 4 years (preferred)


  • A+, Linux+ or Cisco-certified (preferred)
