Your role
This is an exciting opportunity to employ creative and impactful story-telling abilities via original copy to deliver audience-centric communications across all program offerings and platforms.
Responsibilities:
-
Develop creative concepts and advertising copy for all CBC platforms including TV,News, Arts, Sports, Kids, Audio and Gem.
-
Develop concepts and ad copy for all audience-facing materials including event signage,digital, social, out of home, newspaper, magazine, direct mail, broadcast (scripts forradio, tv, video) etc.
-
Partner with Art Directors on concept development and messaging structure for all keycampaigns.
-
Partner with Promo Producers on concept development and scripting for on-airadvertising and campaigns.
-
Partner with Digital Art Directors on concept development, scripting and storyboardingfor digital advertising and campaigns.
-
Attend radio recording sessions and direct talent and production, research and gatheraudio for radio promotion use.

Work with Audio Engineers to produce radio promotions.

Use creative thinking and problem solving to find unique and compelling ideas that areon brand.
-
Proofreading and editing copy of various media before released to the public (i.e.television spots, signage, out of home posters and campaigns, etc.).

Interpret strategic objectives and translate them into tactics that a design team canexecute.
-
Contribute to the creative process – alone or as part of a team – by generating ideas formarketing initiatives.

Incorporate research findings provided by the consumer insights team to ensureconcepts are insights-driven.

Write clear, persuasive, original advertising copy and ensure proposed concept copy isownable/not trademarked or in use by other companies.

Attend briefing meetings, status meetings and kick-off meetings where scope and scaleof projects are discussed and offer insight and expertise on best practices for messaging.

Manage workflow, adhere to schedules and delegate copy requests as needed.

Lead creative presentations to various marketing teams and senior management andprovide a confident creative point of view.

Ensure all projects meet brand standards and are completed on schedule.

Maintain brand consistency across all marketing communications.

Review talent castings and determine best voices and talent for advertising material.

Work with external agencies/partners and vendors and provide direction/edits andapprovals on outsourced copy, as required.

Keep abreast of advertising trends, consumer surveys and other data regardingmarketing-specific media content and services.

Use organizational skills to maintain digital filing systems and processes that providestructure to workflow of copy within the creative department.

Able to take on multiple job requests at the same time and in a fast-paced environment.

Your profile:

College or university degree in copywriting and advertising or related field
-
Minimum five (5+) years relevant professional experience, including advertising copywriting for television, radio, digital, social, out of home and print
-
Copywriting experience in an advertising agency and/or broadcasting environment is an asset

Excellent storytelling skills with a proven ability to write clear, creative, original copy

Excellent verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Strong creative thinking/problem solving with an ability to find unique and compelling ideas that are on brand

Superlative conceptual development and excellent understanding of the nuances oflanguage and syntax
-
Superior organizational and multitasking skills with proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and little supervision

Ability to work independently and as part of a group
