Our client, a rapidly growing Software Consulting company in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and EHS industry, is currently looking for a remote Sr. Cloud Specialist to join their team.

What will you be doing:

As the responsible individual, the task involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure landscape to meet business requirements. This includes implementing best practices for security, backup, logging, reporting, and recovery procedures. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the hosted environment operates optimally according to the best industry standards.

· Install, deploy, and configure MS Azure public cloud environments

· Design and implement automation solutions across infrastructure

· Collaborate with software vendors to resolve problems by opening service calls, providing logs, and responding to advice via phone or email

· Administer, troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor virtualization infrastructure

· Ensure MS Azure landscape operates according to security, backup, logging, reporting, and recovery best practices

· Implement and maintain SQL Server databases to align with security, backup, logging, reporting, and recovery best practices

· Configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server in Windows server environments

· Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and analyze historical and real-time performance data of MS SQL Server environments

· Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly data maintenance tasks

· Skilled in setting up and configuring Replication and Always on Availability Groups

· Transition from SQL Replication to Always on Availability

· Perform IIS Administration and troubleshooting

· Conduct SQL Administration and troubleshooting, including installations, patches, and service packs.

Technical Requirements

· Proficient in supporting high availability enterprise systems on the Windows Server platform

· Experienced in installing and configuring SQL Server 2012 and above, including service packs and cumulative updates

· Knowledgeable in SQL Server security, maintenance, and monitoring

· Thorough understanding of relational database operations and maintenance

· Skilled in tuning database configuration for optimal system performance

· Knowledgeable in establishing High Availability configurations, including SQL Mirroring, SQL Clustering, Always-On Failover Clustering, Always-On Availability Groups, and log-shipping

· Able to create and maintain application databases with optimal data file and log file sizes

· Experienced in administering cloud environments for at least 3 years

· IT Security:

· Proficient in MS Azure SSO Authentication, SAML Authentication, LDAP configuration, certificate support, ciphers and protocols configuration, https configuration, etc.

Infrastructure management:

· Experienced in managing both Microsoft Azure and self-hosted infrastructure

· Holds a Diploma in IT

· Microsoft Certification (MCITP: Database Administrator or MCSE: Data Platform) is a plus

· Has at least 5 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer

Additional requirements:

· Proficient in Microsoft Windows 8/10/11 and Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016/2019

· Knowledgeable in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 months

Salary: $60.00-$78.00 per hour
