Bird Nason Contracting Group is currently seeking applications for experienced Scaffolders for a project near Vanderhoof B.C. with an anticipated start date of April 2023.
Anticipated Start Date: April 2023
Project: Blackwater Gold – Construction of a gold mine crushing circuit and processing circuit
Location: Near Vanderhoof, BC
Schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off, 10 hour per day
Wage: $44.87 per hour (Journeyman Rate) as per collective agreement
Benefits and RRSP Provided as per collective agreement
Camp Provided
Travel Available if Applicable
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Have good working knowledge of construction practices and operation of tools to work safely and efficiently following directions from Supervisor
- Selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials
- Loading and unloading scaffolding equipment on-site
- Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding
- Erecting, modifying and dismantle scaffold
- Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures
- Laying decks for workers to walkways
- Fixing guard rails and safety netting
- Calculating weight of materials to ensure proper equipment is used.
- Must be able to communicate and work effectively with other trades
- Experience with installation of anchor bolts and embed plates
- Checking completed units to be sure they are level, square, and installed in correct location
- Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools of the scaffolding trade
Experience Requirements:
- Valid SAIA or Alberta Carpenter’s Scaffolder trade level certificate
- Experience with industrial construction
- CSTS-09 or CSTS 20
- WHMIS 2015
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, able to interpret drawings, bill of materials and various other specifications
