RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The MUHC Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinical Research Unit (CRU) aims to promote and improve the health of children and young adults diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders. We facilitate the development and implementation of clinical trials, bringing new treatment options to the patients.

This position will participate in the execution of Hematology/Oncology research studies and provide operational support to the Clinical Research Unit (CRU). It is an integral role that will work with Clinical Research Coordinators, doctors and the multi-disciplinary team of the division of hematology/oncology and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

General Duties
• Actively participates in the execution of ongoing research projects,
• Development and implementation of checklists, working instructions and any new SOPs of the CRU,
• Assists in training to new recruits, students and staff,
• Assist with patient recruitment, statistics for the CRU, and data/workflow entry into our CTMS,
• Facilitating the Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators, CRU Manager and the CRU team with day-to-day operations,
• Filing and organizing research documents (paper and electronic),
• Finance tracking, billing and invoicing,
• Contracts negotiation, tracking, and follow-up,
• Tracking and requesting supplies,
• Aiding in the creation of research reports via multiple software applications,
• Use of multiple software platforms including e-signature software and intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications,
• Tracking and ongoing management of research required certifications, training, and regulatory documents such as delegation logs, membership rosters, safety reports reviews, etc,
• Aiding the team manager in Human Resources required documents and paperwork,
• Scheduling meetings, booking rooms, and taking minutes/attendance,
• Collecting, creating and formatting professional and visually appealing material such as protocols, newsletters, e-invites, presentations,
• Coordinating team building events and gathering staff donations for special occasion support,
• Archiving of research documents and/or creating certified electronic copies for archiving,
• Updating information on research publications by our MDs, updating their CVs, MLs, Research Privileges annually,
• Liaising with the clinical administrative staff to ensure flow between research and clinical aspects of the division,
• Other tasks as required and assigned by the CRU Manager.

Education / Experience

• Education: Master’s Degree, in a related field of study,
• Bilingual French/English,
• Proactive,
• Strong team interpersonal and communication,
• Adept at using measured persistence in order to obtain required documentation to ensure compliance with research regulations,
• Extremely detail oriented and organized,
• Demonstrates active critical thinking and flexibility/adaptability to shifting priorities and multiple projects,
• Intermediate to Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning and adapting to new technology/software,
• Knowledge of clinical research regulations, GCP and Health Canada Division 5 is an asset.

• Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio, Teams etc,
• EDGE Clinical Trials Management System,
• REDCap,
• Adobe Sign,
• Adobe Pro.

Additional information

Status: Full-time, one-year contract (one year renewable)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 7 hour day shifts, Mondays to Fridays (may vary according to departmental needs)
Work Site: Division of Hematology/Oncology, Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC
