The ideal candidate will have experience supporting marginalized individuals facing complex life challenges including mental health issues, addictions, social exclusion, and involvement with the justice system.The impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish togetherThis independent contract role involves providing in-person counselling services to clients referred by the Ministry of the Solicitor General. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.Here’s HowProvide medium-term counselling to mandated clients on assigned cases.Conduct assessments and manage cases with a high level of clinical expertise.Assist a diverse range of vulnerable and marginalized populations with various presenting issues.Manage client bookings, utilize manual organizational systems, and maintain paper-based records.Handle waitlists and ensure timely service delivery to all clients.Complete required reports, including initial assessment, progress, and closure reports within specified timelines.Communicate with external professionals on behalf of clients, with their express consent.Collaborate with parole offices, area managers, and other key stakeholders while serving as a corporate ambassador for TELUS Health.QualificationsEducation:Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.Active membership with a professional college in Ontario and valid professional liability insurance.Certified or extensively trained in crisis intervention, SFT, AOAR practices, and, or GAIN-Q3 is considered an asset.Experience:Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate counselling experience managing diverse clinical cases.Ability to work with various types of clients presenting a wide variety of issues and good knowledge of local community resources.Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability provide comprehensive treatment planningExperience promoting community adaptation and integration.Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.Effective time management and the ability to manage high caseloads and administrative tasks.Adaptability to work with manual, paper-based systems and navigate different office environments.Availability to provide in-person support during business hours.Why Choose TELUS HealthFlexible part-time schedule enabling you to balance work and personal life.Ongoing access to clinical supervision & online learning modules for continuous professional growth and support.Reliable monthly billing with assured payment for all scheduled hours, including coverage for no-shows.Chance to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of underserved groups.If you’re committed to making a difference and possess the required qualifications and skills, we would love to hear from you.
