SAIT’s Applied Research and Innovation Services department helps partners conceptualize, prototype and deliver products to market. ARIS is on the leading edge of novel technology development. As one of Canada’s top applied-research colleges, SAIT has 50,000 square feet of specialized research labs, facilities, and full-time research staff who are solely dedicated to providing the services organizations need to take their products from concept to prototype.
The Opportunity
The Centre for Innovation and Research in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (CIRAMM) is ARIS’ newest centre dedicated to advanced research in the areas of manufacturing, materials, and computer modeling.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the CIRAMM is currently looking to hire a motivated Project Coordinator to assist with business development activities for the ACT hub project.
This is a casual role ending September 30, 2023.
The Role
- Coordinate and manage projects internally and externally.
- Ensure that each crew has the tools it needs to meet project milestones.
- Create project schedules that include materials estimates and manpower needs to be submitted to management.
- Assist in documenting project phases and creating summary reports.
- Work with field personnel to handle project issues as they arise
- Write and edit scientific publications and reports.
- Prepare research grants.
- Initiate and lead industry outreach programs.
- Liaise with industry partners.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Post secondary degree with relevant research experience.
- Can work independently while being a team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts
