Manufacturing and Quality Technologist
Specific Mechanical Systems Ltd is a leading manufacturer of craft brewing and distilling equipment, as well as pressure vessels and processing equipment for the food, pharmaceutical, water treatment and other industries. We are currently looking for a Manufacturing and Quality Technologist to work at our Saanichton (Victoria), BC plant. Benefits include extended medical plus company matching pension plan.
The Manufacturing and Quality Technologist reports to the Quality and Safety Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Production Manager, and is responsible for implementing and participating in improvements of the quality plan.
General Responsibilities
Quality Systems
Quality control and product inspection
Assist in administration of in-house ASME quality control program.
Investigate product/process quality issues and document preventative and corrective actions.
Calibration and maintenance of measuring equipment.
Conduct internal audits and provide quality training.
Production & Manufacturing
Production planning and scheduling.
Advance fabrication and manufacturing procedures.
Technical support and parts supply for customers.
Provide support for safety administration and training.
Skills
Organizational, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Able to maintain good working relationships and act as liaison with co-workers and external personnel.
Good hands on and manual dexterity. Willing and able to pick up and use a tool.
Ability to work in a diverse team.
Experience
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a low volume, high complexity metal fabrication operation.
Ability to read and quickly interpret mechanical drawings.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Effective verbal & written communication skills.
Education/Training
Mechanical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent
Salary commensurate with experience
