What you’ll be doing

As Product Designer, Design Systems your focus will be working to enhance and maintain our existing design system. The ideal candidate will create a governance process for efficient team collaboration, refine and expand our library of components on Figma, ensure they are up-to-date, accessible, and aligned with best practices, and work with our development team to streamline components into our Storybook. This role involves close collaboration with the Product, Design, and Development teams to create a cohesive user experience across all digital platforms including Web and Native experiences. The Simplii Financial Design team conceptualizes and designs UX for customer-facing software applications. Your work on the Design System will play an integral role in shaping the future of our digital experience.

How you’ll succeed

  • Design Systems – Proven experience in building and contributing to impactful design systems, demonstrating ownership and advocacy that drive adoption across teams.

  • Product Design – Expertise in design tools (especially Figma) and design systems, including tokens, theming, and UI components, WCAG accessibility standards with a strong foundation in visual and motion design.

  • Project Management – Artistry and passion for Figma UI library maintenance and Storybook evolution, ensuring consistent component documentation handoff between platforms

  • Collaboration – Collaborative mindset with a talent for synthesizing diverse perspectives, communicating decisions effectively, and simplifying complex concepts to meet customer needs within technical constraints

  • Leadership – Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes internally and provide support and guidance to teams utilizing the Simplii Design System while advocating and driving adoption to new teams.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in UX/UI projects for software applications. You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in this area; influencing critical decisions, setting project goals, and delivering creative artifacts with the right fidelity. Experience in Design Systems and proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud are an asset.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Design, Business, Information Studies, Cognitive Psychology, Product Design , or related fields.

  • You’re digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends.
