Pharmacy Manager
Slave Lake Apple Drugs is seeking a full time Pharmacy Manager to join our talented health team and well-established clinical practice to cover a leave for the current pharmacy manager. The pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, appropriate, and effective drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service and workflow efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Overseeing the daily business operations of a pharmacy
· Managing, supervising and training pharmacy support staff (currently fully staffed with a registered pharmacy technician and two assistants)
· Accountable for budgeting and financial management
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and in a timely manner to patients
· Ensuring the safe storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances
· Provide non-prescription drugs, drugs for injection (including parenteral products), health care aides and devices
· Supervise and manage drug distribution systems to maintain public safety and drug system security
· Conduct or collaborate in drug-related research
· Conduct or administer drug and other health-related programs such as structured medication reviews. This pharmacy provides full scope clinical pharmacy services.
· Keep up-to-date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses.
· To coordinate and develop the interdepartmental activities associated with the pharmacy
· Ensure that the legal issues and all policies of the organization are in compliance
· Work collaboratively with all staff
· Complete 3rd party approvals to complete prescriptions
· Patient counselling on prescription medication
· Other duties as required
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
· Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacists
· Minimum 2 years of experience and in completion of or willing to complete Parts A and B of the ACP Licensee Education Program
· Authorization to Administer Drugs by Injection, Additional Prescribing Authority, Sublocade Injection Training
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong verbal communication skills
· Strong people management skills and the ability to coach and motivate others
· Strong personal computing skills and experience with KROLL database
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $135,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
