As a Part-Time Academic Office Administrative Support, you will play a crucial role in supporting administrative tasks within the academic department. Reporting to the Academic Principal, you will be responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of NBS by providing information management and administrative support to the Academic Principal and the teachers. The Academic Office Administrative Support will be involved with handling student attendance, speaking with parents, answering phones, filing support and handling other duties required to support the Office Administrator.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conserve Academic Principal’s time by reading, researching and routing correspondence, drafting letters and documents, collecting and analyzing information and initiating telecommunications.
- Complete requests for information in person or on the phone by answering or referring inquiries from the Ministry of Education, parents, teachers, students, etc.
- Maintain student and teacher attendance records by daily recording and communicating student absences, recording and issuing student late slips, informing teachers of student appointments and by implementing the “on call” timetable, including the distribution of assignments in the absence of a full-time teacher.
- Maintain Academic School supplies by ordering, receiving, distributing and processing payment for classroom supplies, books, films and videotapes.
- Control Petty Cash by recording and disbursing funds, tracking receipts and preparing reimbursement reports.
- Coordinate and execute logistical arrangements for a variety of events, such as Parents’ Days, Graduation ceremonies, Music Night, Student Council events, and theatre trips (including the selection and scheduling of chaperones and the ordering and assigning of theatre tickets).

- Secondary School graduation diploma.
- Strong communication and ability to work well with others.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills; deadline-oriented; excellent organizational, time management, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
Successful candidates must supply Canada’s National Ballet School with a Police Reference Check in accordance with the School’s Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy; this will be coordinated through the Human Resources Department at NBS.
