This position would be working on Thursday, Friday & Saturday overnight (11pm-9am).The live in treatment programs are transitional in nature (service users do not live with us long term) and serve individuals with dual diagnoses (developmental disabilities and other secondary diagnoses such as autism and other mental health, behavioural, or emotional issues). The treatment homes are co-educational in nature and are designed to be responsive to individuals with high needs who are unable to access already existing community-based resources due to their clinical profiles (i.e., high need for support and supervision). The programs assist service users in achieving their individualized goals by providing safe, structured and predictable environments.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Remain awake throughout the night to ensure a supportive, safe and predictable environment;· Follow and implement the prescribed individual treatment plans and facilitate social and life skills training for the service users in relation to morning routines;· Ensure ongoing communication of pertinent events to other staff and supervisors through the shift change process and communication book;· Carry out all safety requirements and emergency procedures;· Assume various responsibilities in accordance with the operation of the residence (ie. daily logs & house maintenance).Preference will be given to an individual with knowledge and experience in supporting persons with a dual diagnosis within the youth sector and experience in the implementation of service plans, which incorporate: sexual orientation, gender identity, ethno-racial needs, social and life skills as well as behavioural assessment and management techniques.QUALIFICATIONS:· A Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, a Child and Youth Counsellor (CYC) Diploma, or equivalent education and/or experience;· At least two years of experience working in a residential setting with a focus on the development and implementation of treatment plans, preferably with individuals with complex needs;KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:· Specific knowledge and understanding of Anti Black and Indigenous Racism and how to be ally. Lived experience a strong asset;· Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team;· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with a range of professional and non-professional individuals;· Functions as an independent self-starter with limited “on-site” supervision;· Adapt philosophy, knowledge and skills to a residential based setting;· Exhibit leadership within a team environment;· Clear exposure to working through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens;· Able to demonstrate knowledge of autism, dual diagnosis, and the impact on the service users and their familiesADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:· Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process;· Medical clearance in accordance with Lumenus Community Services policy on pre-employment medicals;· Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including lifting, bending and prolonged standing as well ability to be trained in CPI(Crisis Prevention Institute) techniques;· Flexibility to work in different locations as needed.TO APPLY: Interested applicants are invited to visit our website at https://lumenus.ca/careers/ and submit their cover letter and resume through our Career Centre on or before April 25, 2025We ask applicants to make any accommodation requests for the interview or selection process known in advance by contacting the Human Resources Department.
