Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Supply, the Operations Manager works in cooperation with the Production and Quality Managers to oversee production of finished goods to specified quality standards and maintaining sufficient raw material and finished goods inventory levels. The Operations Manager directs, administers, and coordinates the operational activities in accordance with the company’s policies and SOPs.

Job Description:

· Participates in the development, preparation, and execution of the company’s Strategic Plan.

· Responsible for the operations annual budget.

· Responsible for the overall company Health and Safety policies and enforcement of the related Health and Safety SOPs. Provides oversight to the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

· Oversees raw material procurement and finished goods inventory processes and implements new or revised processes and procedures as required.

· Build supplier relationship management and source new materials/suppliers that meet all quality requirements.

· Administer the MISYS ERP System and ensure that all modules are being utilized to full capabilities.

· Responsible for creating production schedules based on sales forecasting in consultation with Sales.

· Ensures adequate human resources are in place and utilized efficiently in consultation with the Production and Quality Managers.

· Oversight of facilities maintenance, including buildings, grounds, snow removal and janitorial services, ensuring personnel are assigned to these requirements or contractors are tendered.

· Conducts and or oversees analysis to identify potential improvements and efficiencies. Directs the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow, thereby solidifying management control and direction while encouraging feed-back from all of those involved.

· Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

· Reports on departmental, organizational, and projects statuses on a regular basis to the Director of Finance & Supply.

· Other duties that may arise.

Education:

A BA in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. A Masters designation would be considered an asset.

1 to 2 years of experience in a product production environment, involving conversion of raw materials to finished goods. Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience with a focus on Quality Control would be considered a definite asset.

Experience with ERP concepts would be considered an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $65,000.00 per year
