Mine Engineering Technician – Casual Position

Reporting to the Mine’s Engineering Leader, the Technician II – Mine Engineer provides effective and accurate survey control to the operation by operating survey instruments and auxiliary equipment. This candidate also monitors the underground work environment and reports any deviations from the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Company regulations and co-ordinates and provides mine development, production and construction layouts for use at the operation in compliance with set standards under the direction of a Mine Engineer.
This position requires a thorough understanding of Mining operations and procedures along with strong organizational, motivational and leadership skills.
Candidate must be a graduate from a community college in Mining Technician diploma or higher with proficiency in Excel spreadsheets, Word and basics of CAD programs (CAMP and others). Related experience and/or several years of direct experience in surveying, mine planning, scheduling or construction is considered an asset.
