Job Detail

KIN-DIR Education Foundation is a not-for-profit, Alberta Education approved, private ECS operator in Calgary and area. We screen, assess, and treat developmental delays and disabilities in children 2 years 8 months old to kindergarten age. Our team consists of therapists (Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists) and educators specializing in early childhood development. We also work with families regarding challenging behaviors, developmental tasks, and positive parenting. The services are provided in a variety of settings such as preschools, daycares and in-home.

We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Teacher to join our team for the school year 2022-. Duties will include, but not limited to:

· Acting as the main point of contact, lead at his/her designated classroom/sites, and team coordinator within teams, assigned partner programs and parents

· Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with site educators, parents/guardians, and support team

· Creating, in collaboration with site educators, parents/guardians and support team, an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) for each funded child enrolled in the program

· Being responsible for communicating the IPP, and any additions/progress therein, to parents/guardians and support team on an on-going basis

· Establishing a positive relationship with the child while supporting their learning needs

· Setting up and facilitating meetings for site teams and families on a regular basis


· Valid Permanent Professional Certification or Interim Professional Certification issued by the Province of Alberta

· Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification (asset)

· 1-5 years related work experience with children with special needs

· Completion of a recognized early childhood development program, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

· Knowledge in IPP creation with measurable goals

· Valid Driver’s Licence (mileage is reimbursed at the current CRA mileage rate)

· Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Disclosure

· Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR

· Clear Intervention Record Check

· Exceptional organizational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment and operational needs of the program

· Able to work and collaborate within a team, and able to take initiative and work independently

· Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of Board Maker, virtual meeting applications, cloud storage and MS Office 365 suite

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $32.00-$52.00 per hour
