HSDC is looking for a part time IT assistant who will help us with the installation, operation and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies including communication systems.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure equipment including individual computers
- Trouble shoot hardware and software on computers, perform routine maintenance and correct minor technical problems
- Perform routine maintenance and software updates for performance efficiency
- Trouble shooting internet connections, server problems and program issues
- Setting up wireless connection/networking
- Assist in maintaining internet service, firewalls and telephone systems
- Handling other technical issues
Qualifications:
- Certificate, diploma or degree in computer science, related IT field or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in IT technical field
- Have experience with computer hardware and software set-up
- Familiarity with a variety of hardware (i.e. laptops, projectors, printers, fax machine, etc.)
- Have a working knowledge of Windows operating system
- Team player with the ability to work with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to convey technical issues to non-technical people
- Be able to work independently, and with instructions
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Physical ability to move computers, printers and other equipment
- Have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Be able to multi task
