DUTIES
SHAD Program Assistant
Shad Canada is an annual Canadian summer enrichment program for high-achieving high school students offered in July. The program is open to both Canadian and international students and is offered at 19 participating universities across Canada. Thompson Rivers University is proud to be hosting 48 grade 10 and 11 students from across Canada this summer and we are seeking energetic Program Assistants to host these students here on campus.
You will be housed in the campus residence, eat in the Campus Activity Center, and live alongside your designated group of students from July 2 to July 28, 2023, for the entire month (24/7).
You are responsible for supervising, organizing and ensuring your group arrives on time at each activity or to the bus which will take you to the activity with everyone.
Students will have multiple excursions around the Kamloops area, a chance to volunteer locally in our community, and take part in exciting educational activities on campus tailored to ignite youth potential and create a lasting impact.
Salary: $3500 – $5600, lodging and food included depending on experience.
Training will begin offsite June 26/23.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience leading a group of students, the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully, excellent organizational and time management skills.
Previous educational training an asset.
