Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Information Developer and Content Designer, you will acquire solid knowledge about IBM’s strategic cloud software products. You’ll work on a wide range of products, including instructions, application program interface (API) documents, user interface (UI) text, command line interface (CLI) strings, error messages, videos, architectural diagrams, and more. You will work closely with different IBM functions including product management, design, development, testing, and globalization. You will build technical environments and perform documentation tests to guarantee information accuracy. You’ll also want a basic understanding of user security concepts, such as authentication, authorization, admission control, encryption, and user profiling.

Tasks include:

  • Design the content strategy and information architecture for various programs
  • Design, develop and maintain online documentation (user guides, admin guides, installation guides) for innovative products and services
  • Collaborate openly and effectively with other writers, designers, developers, and offering management
  • Look for ways to improve the current documentation
  • Produce multiple deliverables with frequent releases
  • Maintain effectiveness in response to changing program requirements and incomplete information
  • Be creative and efficient in describing complex technology and environments
  • Take ownership and initiative when developing and delivering documentation that varies in size and scope, and communicate status proactively


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • A desire and ability to write clearly to convey information to the intended audience in an easily understood manner
  • Aptitude for technology
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills to gather information from with subject matter experts and to gather and share information in a global environment


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge of Python, XML or HTML an asset
  • Experience with DITA and Markdown-based documentation an asset
  • Experience with technical documentation of cloud services
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or OpenShift technologies

Location Statement

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions.
