Position Summary

The Fire Protection Services Coordinator is accountable for coordinating Fire Protection, Prevention, Life Safety and Education for staff and patients.

Monday to Friday; days


Qualifications

  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology and/or related discipline
    • Completion of Fire Prevention Officer training curriculum from the Ontario Fire College, which includes Ontario Certification of:
    • NFPA 1031 – Fire Inspector I & II
    • NFPA 1035 – Fire and Life Safety Educator I
    • NFPA 1033 – Fire Investigator
    • NFPA 1041 – Fire Instructor I
    • OFC Fire Code Courses,
    • Part 2 & 6 Fire Safety and Fire Protection Equipment
    • Part 3 & 5 Industrial, Commercial, Hazardous

    Materials, Processes and Operations

    • Part 4 Flammable Liquids and Combustible Liquids
    • Part 9 Retrofit
    • Courtroom Procedures
    • Legislation
    • NFPA 472 or 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness
    • Full understanding of Ontario Building & Fire Codes.
    • Experience in reading, interpreting and applying legislation
    • Proven leadership, organizational and prioritizing skills
    • Work effectively independently or in a team environment
    • Three (3)years experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.
