We are looking for a volunteer co-ordinator/ event planner for our Christianchurch. We are Lawrence Park Community Church, which is a progressiveProtestant church that belongs to the United Church of Canada.   • The Volunteer Co-Ordinator would help us provide a welcoming environment to

all in-person participants at our church, aiming to build up a team of morevolunteers

  • Planning and administration of regular and special events, some of which take

place after church, others in the evening ( dinners, concerts, etc…)

  • Support the members of the Lawrence Park Community Church community and

staff in helping to deliver events on a regular basis (6-8 times per year)Duties And ResponsibilitiesMember Volunteer Recruitment:

  • Be at 3 of 4 monthly Sunday morning church services (September through June)

getting to know members and recruiting to run coffee hour after the service. Helping with coffee time set up and shopping.

  • Be present on Sundays from 9am to 1pm
  • Flag the Ministers to new people who are attending and inform the Ministers of

members who need pastoral care.

  • Keep informed of current opportunities and information to be able to provide

best practices and continue to nurture the team and current members.Event Management:

  • Aim to run 6-8 events per year (expectation is about 20 hours of work per event)
  • organize events, which means finding volunteers, doing the food shopping and

prepping for events, being at the event to make sure everything happens as itshould, and being present to wrap it up, on the day.

  • manage the financials including agreeing a budget, and afterwards completing

records of finances and other details of what worked and should be changed fornext time.

  • Onsite lead and organizer for all church events (eg. Christmas Market, music

concerts, occasional community lunches after services.)
