HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Director of IT is responsible for the IT department’s strategic planning, direction, and leadership to ensure corporate technology objectives are met. Additionally, responsible for planning and implementing enterprise business applications and IT systems in support of business operations to improve cost-effectiveness, processes, and procedures. Responsible for the management of the infrastructure to achieve performance and cybersecurity objectives.

  • Led multi-disciplinary individuals responsible for improving or re-engineering business processes and information systems to align with strategic business directions, including best practices and overall industry standards.
  • Manage tasks, and provide cost-effective strategies to eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies and lower costs while keeping scalability, robustness, innovation, security, continuity of business, and disaster recovery with stakeholders and user experience at the top of mind
  • Oversee current and anticipated projects to create, replace, enhance and modify technology platforms.
  • Evaluate and recommend corporate information systems technology solutions.
  • Set policies, procedures, technical standards, methods, and priorities for the IT department.
  • Manage, track, and document all IT assets and licenses
  • Preserve assets, information security, and control structures. Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems
  • Work collaboratively with the site and executive management to maximize the utilization of existing business applications to meet business requirements and leverage IT assets.
  • Build structure and optimize corporate Master Data management
  • Optimize ongoing network design and ensure stability and continual uptime.
  • Led the acquisition, maintenance, and management of all company hardware, and software requirements
  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, including establishing a process for evaluating new and existing vendors, to ensure services delivered meet the required business value objectives, IT and security standards.
  • Led and directed all IT Staff, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Lead Cyber Security Program

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, equivalent education and experience, and advanced technical and managerial credentials.
  • 10+ years of experience managing all functions of IT within a medium-sized company
  • Overnight Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% (USA and Canada)
  • Ability to evaluate software and hardware
  • Overall working knowledge of business systems, including enterprise and workstation applications
  • Proven project management experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Information Technology: 10 years (preferred)
  • ERP systems: 4 years (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Anjou, QC
