Closing Date: June 5, 2025As an integral member of the department of Dentistry, the responsibilities of the Dental Hygienist include: performing dental hygiene procedures to provide dental care to patients in accordance with departmental and hospital standards; operating and maintaining hand held instruments and other equipment utilized during procedures; preparing written and electronic reports required to document procedures and results; participating in teaching, educational and quality improvement programs/activities; attending and participating in conferences on an annual basis; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested; working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner.Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of a 2 year Community College program in Dental Hygiene, or recognized equivalent
  • At minimum, 1 year practical and related experience, hospital setting preferred
  • Member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO)
  • Current registration in the province of Ontario
  • Experience working with medically compromised patients
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the dentist, patient and other team members
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and maintain patient flow
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient care needs and accept direction from the supervising dentist on an ongoing basis
