NAIT’s Crane
& Hoist Equipment Operator programs prepare students to operate any boom
truck or mobile. As well as training them in advanced rigging practices for any
load they may encounter as a crane operator.

Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator
programs at our Spruce Grove Campus is currently recruiting for continuing
instructors who are energetic leaders, committed to student success, and have
outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful
candidates will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present learning outcomes
    and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
  • Participate in curriculum
    development, program reviews and course reviews
  • Facilitate the learning process
    by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective
    delivery of course materials
  • Manage instructional delivery
    and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
  • Create assessment tools to
    evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
  • Provide early and on-going
    coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
  • Respond to student issues
  • Utilize appropriate educational
    technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
  • Maintenance and/or submission
    of program/student records accurately and promptly
  • Maintain professional and
    ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Actively participate in the
    strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by
    the institute
  • Utilize regular student
    feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improve the quality of
    instruction through professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of computers

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator
    Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent required including Inter-Provincial
  • Red Seal an asset
  • Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after
    completion of Journeyperson ticket preferred
  • Teaching experience an asset 

 

Remuneration: Will
commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits
package. Instructor salary grid $64,254 – $111,775
annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $77,831 – $84,620
annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification
– Instructor).

This
position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective
Agreement
