Hiring Unit:
Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Communications Office)

Position Summary:

  • Under the direction of the Manager, Communications, the work/study student participates in the smooth functioning of the unit’s operations.

  • Responsibilities include:

  • Posting news items, visuals and events online to Health e-News, Envoke and other media platforms

  • Preparing daily In the News emails circulated to leadership

  • Researching, retrieving and posting Faculty news published on other non-Faculty sources

  • Providing ongoing logistical Event support

  • Supporting special projects, e.g., development of online communications request form, research and retrieval of historical images and information, RSVP/Survey administration, capturing and organizing key Office processes, including related templates and contact information, etc.

  • Providing general administrative support.

Education:

  • Current undergraduate student in any discipline
    English-French bilingualism

  • Experience with Content Management Systems and website maintenance

  • Skills in searching multiple types of information environments

  • Education or experience in one of the following domains: communications, library and information studies, knowledge management, web systems, usability or marketing

  • must be enrolled in a WORK STUDY program at McGill.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Experience with SharePoint sites/MS Teams (asset)

  • Familiarity with the marketing email platforms (asset)

  • Basic familiarity with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop (asset)

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE B) $20.48

Estimated Number of Work Hours per Week:

30 (Part time)
