Reports to: Environmental & Utilities Manager

Responsibilities

  • Present technical, operational, and management leadership.
  • Responsible for the operation of powerhouse equipment and machinery to meet the organization demand of steam, compressed air, chilled water, and nitrogen.
  • Supervise electrical and mechanical services including preventative maintenance and equipment overhauls to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair powerhouse equipment and machinery in fast paced environment to minimize downtime.
  • Communicate all maintenance and other activities with operations team to meet production goals.
  • Ensure effective recruitment, development, and training is provided to operate the powerhouse safely and efficiently.
  • Provide clear work objectives and expectations to the shift engineers.
  • Ensure that TSSA standards and inspections are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintain all records and documentation and ensure completion of paperwork.
  • Propose and/or installing new equipment, if required.
  • Maintain an updated central log of all operating machinery and files related to repairs, maintenance, and lubrications.
  • Observe all Safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
  • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Profile

  • Must possess a minimum certification for 2nd class maintenance engineer, with 1st class being preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting is a strong asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of principles governing the safe operation and maintenance of building mechanical, life safety and locking systems
  • Demonstrate principles of supervision, leadership, and the enforcement of safer operational conditions
  • Ability to frequently work alone or with people at elevated heights and with noise
  • Capable of working in dry and humid conditions
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
