After your application is received it shall be your responsibility to keep your contact information up to date with the JATC. Completed applications will be checked for minimum qualification. Must be at least 18, HS diploma or equivalent, valid drivers license and physically able to perform the work of the trade. Applicants deficient in one or more requirements or applicants that cannot be contacted will be disqualified and no further processing of the application will be taken. Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be notified where and when to appear for the interview. Those applicants who are selected for the training program will attend unpaid classes at the BAC District Council of WV Training Center in Harrisville, for a period of eight (8) weeks at thirty-two (32) hours per week, Monday Thursday. You must graduate from this program to start the apprenticeship. There is no charge for the training. You will receive a stipend of $12.50 for each day you attend class. Tools will be provided for your training. If determined by the JATC you live too far from the Training Center to commute each day, housing will be provided at no cost to you. If you successfully complete the pre-job program you will be placed on a job, your starting wages will be 50% of Journeyworker wages (approximately $18.00) per hour plus benefits, depending on the area of your employment and trade of interest). During your apprenticeship, you will receive a 10% pay increase for each six month period you work with at least 1,000 work hours and satisfactory improvement.Positions open state wide.
