Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for sorting, matching, coding, and entering miscellaneous and inventory vendor invoices for all locations, with an average of 7000 per month handled by the team. Your tasks will include performing 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for inventory suppliers. You will be in charge of invoice data entry to ensure proper cost allocation (GL coding) and carry out regular audits and reconciliations. You will also resolve discrepancies, ensure all items on outstanding purchase orders have been received, paid, and accounted for, and obtain approvals for invoice pricing. You will be the point person for internal and supplier inquiries and will be responsible for filing assorted Accounts Payable documents. Effective communication with branches, managers, and suppliers is vital in this role to ensure timely processing of payables.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years AP experience – Full cycle invoice processing (at least 100 per day)

  • Basic proficiency with Excel

  • Proficient with MS Outlook

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication – written/spoken

  • Ability to engage with external stakeholders

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Burnaby, British Columbia and some days remote.

Work Environment

You will be part of a team of 4 AP resources in a friendly and engaging office environment. The role involves heavy manual data entry and you will report directly to the person, working closely with other AP specialists and the accounting team. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week). The office is transit accessible with parking available onsite. Dress code is business casual.
