ACADEMIC INFECTIOUS DISEASES SPECIALIST

Department of Medicine, McMaster University

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster Univeristy and Hamilton Health Sciences invite applicants for an Academic Physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases. This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable) and is in the Clinician Educator stream to promotion and tenure. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will provide at least 15 weeks of in-patient infectious diseases consultation, primarily at our Hamilton General Hospital site, and is expected to significantly contribute to the general infectious disease’s outpatient service.

From an academic perspective, we are specifically seeking applicants with experience and an interest in curriculum development and program evaluation. Optimally the candidate will have a masters degree in education and/or program evaluation, and a track record of scholarly activity in this field. The individual will be reporting to the Division Director of Infectious Diseases.

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Infectious Diseases and be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in undergraduate and/or postgraduate education and will be expected to fully participate in all the appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
