Are you an innovative Manager, Academic Programs passionate about providing guidance and strategic leadership?In collaboration with the Chair of the Nanji Foundation School of Nursing, the Manager of Academic Programs provides academic leadership and management to all programs in the School of Nursing. Assist the chair in managing the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure the school’s goals are met.Here’s What’s on Your HorizonLeadership and Administrative Management
- Manages non-full-time staff and faculty and supervise recruitment, orientation and training processes.
- Coordinates and facilitates non-full-time faculty assignments, working with Academic Support Officers, Coordinators, Faculty/School Assistant, and Chair
- Leverages educational technology tools and platforms to optimize program delivery, student engagement and communication.
- Initiates and sustains ongoing, long term strategic processes with faculty and staff that includes new program development, program review, program approval and international collaborations.
Program Coordination
- Leads the planning, implementation and ongoing coordination of academic programs.
- Provides day-to-day supervision to staff and faculty to ensure all necessary activities related to academic delivery are complete in an efficient and timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with faculty, department heads and stakeholders to ensure program content, curriculum and schedules align with educational goals and standards and ensure individuals are compliant with established Seneca policies and procedures.
- Works with the chair and program areas to support Program Advisory Committees.
- Works closely with the Experiential Learning team to ensure students receive an excellent experience in their related fields.
- Attends faculty and administration team meetings to support discussions about the direction of the Seneca Nanji Foundation School of Nursing.
Student Support
- Provides comprehensive information about program requirements, course offerings, registration procedures, and academic policies.
- Acts as a resource for students in the facilitation of issues and advise students with their needs including appropriate counselling services as required.
- Resolves issues with existing students and works to mediate concerns to arrive at an informal or formal resolution.
Resource Management
- Manages resources and staffing to ensure effective program operations and growth.
- Plans, coordinates and manages the development of budget submissions and mid-year reports.
- Coordinates and tracks special accounts and instructional capital expenditures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborates with stakeholders and other departments to ensure a cohesive and enriching academic experience for students.
- Represents Seneca in community groups, businesses, professional associations and international institutions by participating in and/or facilitating meetings and marketing events as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with external groups.

- Minimum of a Master of Nursing degree is required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) designation with no restrictions on their practice from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
Experience
- Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience, including policy and procedure development for continuous improvement and student success processes, preferably in post-secondary management with demonstrated project management skills.
- Post-Secondary teaching experience preferably in a related School discipline is an asset.
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in establishing job performance levels, academic requirements, scheduling, administrative support, basic accounting and acceptable workloads is all considered assets as the functions of the position will vary from day to day.
Skills
- Well-developed public relations and relationship-building skills and a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver professional presentations.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills.
- Demonstrated organization, managerial and project management skills with an emphasis on interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the Seneca’s multi-cultural/racial/able students, staff and public.
- Advanced technical skills in word processing (Word), spreadsheet packages (Excel) ,presentation software (PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Database software applications and learning platforms are desirable.
- Familiarity using learning management systems and student information systems.
