Many of the plays developed by Canadian Stage have been awarded and nominated for Canada’s most prestigious literary and performing arts honours, including Governor General’s, Chalmers, and Dora Mavor Moore Awards.ABOUT THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCanadian Stage seeks a dynamic and results-driven Group Sales Manager to expand our engagement with non-corporate and non-student groups, such as associations, social clubs, and senior organizations. While our team currently manages corporate and school group sales, this role focuses on cultivating and growing relationships with diverse community groups.We are open to applications from qualified individuals and from group sales agencies.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Outreach: Develop and maintain a targeted leads list for non-corporate and non-student groups. Conduct both cold and warm outreach to introduce Canadian Stage’s offerings and build lasting relationships.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Create and implement sales strategies to increase group attendance, particularly for marquee productions like our annual holiday Panto musical. Monitor and adjust tactics to meet sales targets.
  • Client Cultivation & Relationship Management: Engage with group leaders to understand their needs, offer tailored experiences, and ensure exceptional service from initial contact through to post-performance follow-up.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track sales activities, outcomes, and client feedback. Provide regular reports to the Audience Services Management team and recommend improvements to enhance group sales efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing and production, to align group sales initiatives with overall organizational goals and ensure a cohesive patron experience.

REMUNERATIONRemuneration for this position is structured with a monthly retainer, in addition to commission based on sales outcomes.Estimated compensation, based on hitting group sales targets, is $50,000 per annum.This hybrid model offers the flexibility of a steady base income alongside performance-based rewards, incentivizing success and growth in group sales. As the role continues to evolve and as group sales performance meets key growth targets, we anticipate the potential for this position to transition into a full-time permanent role based on return on investment (ROI) indicators and organizational needs.
