Summary of DutiesReporting to the Manager of Patient Flow, the Patient Flow Specialist will be responsible for the following:Coordinating allocation of bedsLiaising with physicians regarding admissions, discharges and transfersCommunicating status of patient needs and bed availabilityManaging surge and multi-casualty incidentsCollaborate with patient care units (including the OR) to optimize patient flowQualifications/SkillsRegistered Nurse currently registered with the Ontario College of NursesFour year degree in a relevant health profession or equivalent, completed or in progress3-5 years direct patient care experience in acute carePrevious patient flow experience preferredDemonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., MDs, other health professionals)Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, decision-making and organization skillsDemonstrated experience using Patient tracking systems and Windows based computer applicationsDemonstrated commitment to Patient Focused-Care concept and principlesAbility to work effectively in a fast paced environment with minimum directionDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and respectful fashion If you are looking for an exciting opportunity and to build a career in an innovative and dynamic organization, submit your resume by clicking on Apply Now below.Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
