Job Summary and Qualifications:Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs xrays and operates equipment in the department/portably and in the operating room
- Completes imaging requests on ED/IP/OP patientes in a timely, safe and professional manner
- Coordinates daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases as required
- Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in the department, in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
- Complies with safe radiation practices at all times.
- Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required
- Reports to senior technologists and manager
- Participates in the orientation of new staff and students as directed
- Assists radiology residents and fellows within the division as required
- Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
- Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures and exams
Qualifications/Skills
- CMRTO Registration required
- CAMRT Registration preferred
- Recent related technologist experience required
- Related technologist experience in a Hospital environment preferred
- Demonstrates ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrates initiative and comfort with decision making
- Demonstates an ability to be flexible in order to respond to changing and emergent situations
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Able to perform in a high stress and busy environment
