I feel welcome and at home.”Pay Range$17.22- $19.58VHA’s Hoarding Support Coach is responsible for supporting Network clients who have hoarding behaviors accompanied with other comorbidities. These individuals have difficulties with excessive clutter and excessive acquiring that may present health and environmental risks, which can lead to a host of other issues including; personal distress to themselves and their family. The HSC will have an opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals in helping with Housing Stabilization. #INVHARCCKey Areas of AccountabilityVHA’s Hoarding Support Coach have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:Provides emotional support assisting individuals with setting goals and encouraging change in relationship with items helping shift perspective and rapport with their belongings through a client centred and harm reduction approach.Monitors and reports any changes that may affect client’s safety immediately to Supervisor/Lead Facilitator.Provides ongoing notes after each session to Supervisor including logs of activities and other details as required.Provides activities that are conducted within the clients care/service plan and policies, procedures and standards of confidentiality of VHA Home HealthCare.Requires to wear PPE’s and work in home environments that are on a scale of 6+ on the CIR scale as well as squalor like and infested home environments.Required Qualifications:Diploma in, or working toward: Social Service Worker, Addictions and Mental Health Worker, or Community Service Worker, or a related discipline.Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrating tact and diplomacy with at risk clienteleDemonstrated interest in mental health issues and compulsive hoardingExcellent problem solving skills, a solution-focused approach and crisis intervention techniquesExperience working with clients with mental healthExperience in community health is an assetAble to work from a client centered and harm reduction approachA valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is considered an assetWhat makes VHA’s compensation unique?Benefits and pension plan for permanent eligible employeesCompensation for education and professional developmentVHA is a leading learning organization so we can provide you with comprehensive orientation and training at the start and throughout your careerMentorship and peer supportCareer development opportunitiesEmployee and family assistance programWellness resourcesPerks & discountsStaff & service provider eventsAccommodation and VHA’s commitment to DEIAt VHA Home HealthCare (VHA), we passionately strive to uphold our commitments to being an Equal Opportunity Employer.
