Brief Description:Our employer is a not-for-profit Jewish organization dedicated to providing inclusive social, recreational and life skills programs to teens and adults with special needs. They are looking for a Part-Time Program Assistant that could turn Full Time if the successful candidate can fulfill the Administration Assistant duties as well.
Job Function:

  • Working under the direction and support of the Director
  • Responsible for running a multitude of social, recreational and life skills programs that support teens and adults with special needs (including purchasing all food and dinner and program supplies)
  • Programs include 4 afternoon programs for adults (3:30-6:30 p.m.) and 1 teen program (5-7 p.m.) each week & a Sunday afternoon program (2-6 p.m.) for teens & adults
  • Other programs include special programs for the Chagim and 2-3 weekend retreats (Shabbatons) throughout the year

Candidates capable of the additional functions would be considered for full-time employment:

  • Responsible for all aspects of their online database MARS (creating events, assisting families with creating an account, taking attendance and registration and payments)
  • Create monthly newsletter and graphics using Canva templates
  • Posting a few times a week on social media

Job Requirement:

  • Be able to commit to work for at least until June
  • Must have experience working with people with special needs
  • Energetic, reliable, creative, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with special needs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written skills, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Good leadership skills & ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work with and manage other staff members and volunteers
  • Excellent customer service of both participants and their families
  • Good working knowledge of: Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media
  • Willingness to learn new databases and online apps
  • Must pass background and reference checks
