The Digital Pathology (DP) Data Services Team within Roche provides data management, generation, and validation services to support DP science & discovery teams in their algorithm research and development. We are an exceptionally smart and diverse group of outstanding individuals united in our mission to improve the lives of every patient afflicted with cancer.

We’re looking for a skilled Data Manager to join our team and help support research and collaborative studies in digital pathology. These include, but are not limited to large clinical studies, in-depth analysis across several data types (images, annotations, and metadata), and AI-driven initiatives. The data manager will work in a team of imaging scientists, pathologists,  statisticians and computer scientists to ensure that our image datasets are well organized, accurate and optimized to support collaborative research.

The Opportunity: 

  • Engage with large clinical studies and perform in-depth analysis across images, annotations, and metadata.

  • Participate in AI-driven initiatives alongside a multidisciplinary team of imaging scientists, pathologists, statisticians, and computer scientists.

  • Ensure well-organized, accurate, and optimized image datasets to support collaborative research efforts.

  • Coordinate with key digital pathology stakeholders both within Roche and with external collaborators to enable detailed data access and integration.

  • Manage and prioritize diverse data sources and modalities, including imaging data, multi-omics, patient/sample metadata, real-world evidence, and clinical trial data.

  • Embrace a flexible and learning approach in a dynamic environment, and pursue creative solutions to sophisticated challenges.

Who you are: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in science with experience in handling datasets for large studies.

  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with programming languages such as Python and MATLAB for data analysis.

  • Familiarity with database software and organizational systems (like SQL); 

  • Strong ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow up on requirements with concrete action steps.

  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Demonstrated communication skills for effective collaboration and information  exchange.

Preferred: 

  • Master’s degree in science

  • Prior experience in digital pathology, medical imaging; 

  • Previous experience with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and FDA compliance 

  • Familiar the notion of FAIR data
